Le projet Something Navy d'Arielle Charnas coule

par | 30 janvier 2024 | Nouvelles des influenceurs

Guess what’s stirring in the fashion world?

Something Navy, the once-buzzing apparel brand by Arielle Charnas, has been scooped up for just $1!

Yes, you read that right – one single dollar. 🤯

It seems like even mega influencers can crash and burn.

This shocking deal comes after a tumultuous phase for the retailer, involving a mix of faltering sales and mounting debts.

Here’s the scoop on this jaw-dropping turn of events. 👇

The rise and fall of Something Navy

Launched in 2020 by mega fashion influencer Arielle Charnas, Something Navy quickly caught the internet’s eye.

Yes, it was another influencer brand for us to follow.

However, the brand’s journey from an online sensation to a struggling entity has been dramatic.

The brand’s initial dazzle seemed unstoppable.

In just a year, Something Navy boasted a valuation of $100 million and had raked in $32 million in revenue. 🤑

But fast forward to today, and it’s a vastly different story.

The downward spiral

The brand’s troubles began to surface visibly.

Insider reports indicate that CEO Matt Scanlan’s departure in June was followed by several setbacks, including closed stores, delayed orderset paused production

Fans even called Arielle out for not endorsing her own brand. Ouch!

👉 Presently, their website teases a refresh but remains devoid of products.

Despite the initial success and a hefty $17.5 million in funding from notable investors like Third Kind Venture Capital and Silas Capital, Something Navy couldn’t keep the momentum going.

Behind-the-scenes controversies and struggles

Arielle Charnas, the face and chief creative officer of Something Navy, has been subject to controversy.

From backlash over her handling of a COVID-19 diagnosis to rumours of marital and financial woes, Charnas’ journey has been marred by challenges.

The brand’s operational woes were just as glaring.

Reports of delayed payments to suppliers, dwindling employee count, and a CEO who, according to some, was not confronting these challenges head-on painted a grim picture. 🫠

Is the $1 deal a glimmer of hope?

Enter Apparel company IHL and the Amirian Group, who are now the brand’s new stewards.

The purchase price may be symbolic, but the liabilities they assume are substantial – a whopping $7.5 million.

Charnas remains onboard as a brand ambassador, holding onto a 14.5% stake in the brand she founded.

It’s a significant shift from her once-dominant role but perhaps necessary for Something Navy’s survival.

So, what does this dramatic turn mean for the future of Something Navy?

Will this fresh chapter restore its lost sheen?

Or is it the beginning of a complete overhaul?
